The Diploma in Broadcast Journalism is designed for those who have a keen interest in joining the hustle and bustle of behind-the-scenes in broadcasting. News gathering, writing, filming, editing, and producing news and non-fiction broadcasts for the electronic media are among the knowledge and skills which are going to be learned. Students will learn all of these through lectures, workshops, and actual on-air work by skilled and experienced lecturers.
Journalism is the activity of gathering, assessing, creating, and presenting news and information. It is also the product of these activities. The purpose of journalism is thus to provide citizens with the information they need to make the best possible decisions about their lives, their communities, their societies, and their governments.
