Available to Singaporeans, Permanent Residents or applicants with a valid working pass in Singapore, this course, designed to meet the regulations of the Singapore Nursing Board enables registered nurses to expand the professional knowledge and experience by taking the study of the biological and behavioral sciences underlying nursing to greater depth. Nurses will focus on the maintenance and further development of their professional competencies while enhancing capabilities as a member of an inter-professional team in an ever developing health care system. They will explore nursing research, ethics, professional practice, management, science and behavioral science.
Nursing is the protection, promotion, and optimization of health and abilities, prevention of illness and injury, facilitation of healing, alleviation of suffering through the diagnosis and treatment of human response, and advocacy in the care of individuals, families, groups, communities, and populations. Nurses develop a plan of care, working collaboratively with physicians, therapists, the patient, the patient's family and other team members, that focuses on treating illness to improve quality of life.
